Grade 6 student's had a 'rocking' time learning about Geology at the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum on Wednesday.
It really helped us to answer a lot of questions based on our first line of inquiry:
Causes of the variable physical geography around the world.
We saw many fossils and touched rock samples that are over 2 BILLION years old!
Emi Nishimi demonstrated great leadership skills when she volunteered to translate for our Japanese Geology expert. He was so knowledgeable about the Earth and how it was formed.
Look how many volcanos are lit up around Japan on the interactive Globe. The teacher explained that we are situated where four tectonic plates meet- and that is why we have so many earthquakes here compared to other places.
So many new questions came up as a result of our visit and we can't wait to continue investigating the Earth's Physical Geography and its impact on human interactions and settlements after the October Break!
